On the one hand, I don't want awards to be influenced by sales. If I had it my way, The Idler Wheel would've won AOTY last year (because it was the best album of the year for sure, probably of this whole decade so far), yet it wasn't even nominated. On the other hand, I can totally understand why: AOTY should be a great album that also made waves in the music industry. Even if someone released one of the best albums ever quality-wise, if only a small handful of people hear it... that doesn't really seem like it's the album of the year.
Doesn't matter how many people hear it, the GRAMMY's are about acclaim by producing a good body of work. Of course those 2008/2009 winners were not standouts before they won the award, but they're good albums!
I need Sara to win even more now That damn shade is doing too much on me I would say Sara is lucky to my recognized by the Grammys however but she deserved it
Like no one said she didn't. Girl has plenty of trophies and AOTY 2009. Youngest ever to have that so. Taylor doesn't need it nor deserve it this year.
There's nothing to discuss, all the nominees are in that category for a reason that only the critics know. One of them will win for reasons that only the critics will know.
We don't have much to say, they will decide and we have to accept, even if we don't understand.
