Gaga relies on gimmicks a lot but she never lets her talent be overshadowed.

IMO, Nicki is quite literally the definition of "gimmick" because she has nothing to back it up with.

You may be right, but there's still a general consensus within the industry and the public that Gaga is talented. In fact, a lot of people bash her because she "doesn't showcase her talent enough". I can't say the same for Nicki. When was the last time the public was like, "WOW, she's so talented?"

I have to go with Nicki. While both these girls are talented in their respective fields and served a lot of costumes and looks over the years, Nicki's toned it down visually while Gaga is donning flying dress, going to space, collaborating with high profile artists on projects completely unrelated to her music, being a total mess online, etc.

Both used cringe worthy gimmicks but Nicki's was a little bit more obvious.

Nicki, and it's not close. Gaga's entire career is based on a gimmick.
