We
NEED another one of these TBH. I feel like the issue is generally the songs are made for one artist's album, written as a solo, and then after its fully produced, they add a last-minute collab via email, and throw it in. Sometimes it works, but often it sounds basic, or that it would have been just as good as a solo. A big part, I think Lady Gaga described this with the remix with Cher, is that the artists should work together right from the start, and be in-studio, rather than through emails last minute. If the song was, from the beginning, a collab, and written by the artists themselves, and put towards something they can all share the glory in, either for a third party source (EX: A movie soundtrack) or for a joint-single.
This isnt always the case though. Anyways I don't know how any of the following were created, but my favourite female collabs are Lady Marmalade, Beautiful Liar, Rich Girl, and Me against the Music. (I am liking that new Rih/Shak track tho.)
