Do Gays like being called Gays?

Are you a gay that dislikes being called a gay? a twink? a bear? any labels? do you mind them? or do they annoy you?

I'm not "a gay". I'm a gay person.

It's not really insulting, I don't see why not. For now it's fine.

When someone makes a thread: "Gays, do you...."

does it bother you?

Not necessarily, but it's not how I refer to myself.

This, plus when you hear gays it sounds like it such a negative connotation as if all gays are flaming queens.

How would you refer yourself as then?

I don't mind "gays" but the whole sub-labels thing (twink, bear, etc) is kinda embarrassing/cringey.

Exactly how I feel sometimes but I don't like generalizing.

I don't dislike being called gay (or being asked about it), but I do hate when people use my sexuality as a way to describe me, like... "he's my gay friend", or "my gay cousin"

My friends refer to me as a **** but gay is ok.

I don't care. I think being called 'a gay' is mildly insulting though

Here online on ATRL it makes no difference, I don't mind being called sis, sistern, gyal and what not, there's a certain aura of campiness on the board which I'm ok with but not as much in public

But if you're a gay on good terms with me call me whatever, because I will call you a ****** affectionately. And since the forum is obviously a friendly place, "Gays" in titles doesn't bother me since it's a given the thread starter is gay. If not, they shouldn't use "gays".

I detest this too. I also hate those girls who want gay friends to treat me/us like some sort of accessory.
