TOO WEIRD TO LIVE, TOO RARE TO DIE!
by Panic! at the Disco
Before this album the only songs I heard by P!ATD where The Ballad of Mona Lisa and Miss Jackson. I liked them but wasn’t too crazy about them and when this album dropped I decided to give it a chance. It would never hurt me right? Checking this out this album was one of the best musical chances I’ve ever made. It’s modern, progressive and still true to who P!ATD are. The electronic influences in the album just adds such a unique flavor to the whole album. My only problem is with the single choices, like they have songs like Nicotine and Miss Jackson gets to be the single? No Panic! I need it to have the single treatment with an epic video.
God & Jesus released their seventh album (!!!!) at the top of the year, serving up the best mainstream indie-pop album of the decade! Hearthrob showcases the duo in a brand new package, with a new look, a new sound and new wasted slayage ability. If Closer was pushed more, it could’ve been the first hit for the band but they decided to focus on touring instead (understandable since they are touring not sitting at home just watching the song flop). Greg Kurstin is one of the best pop producers out there so we would like to thank Warner Bros. Records for spilling some coins to help get into the studio and make an album with him because it just blows you away. This album was the reason I started checking out for them and finally stanning for them. Their undeniable talent and charm is just too much too ignore. This album was easily my #1 but the next album kind of deserved it.
MY TRINITY:
Closer
I'm Not Your Hero
Goodbye Goodbye/I Was a Fool (nope, I won't choose and you can't make me)
Only like the first four songs (which you luckily listed in your trinity.) Couldn't get into the rest, unfortunately.
That's how I was at first but then the whole record just grew on me. I think you just gotta let it play and listen to it with an open mind and you're hooked.

BEYONCÉ

And now we arrive to our number that literally swooped in at the end of 2013 making every single release strategy seem basic and bland. After the whole buzz died down a bit, the album’s quality didn’t. It just kept getting better and better with each listen, each song individually and the album as whole. You could feel that this could be her most personal album yet, the way she put the movies upfront forgetting all about the pretenses the follow with an album release campaign. I know this has been said before but this is truly the album Bey is supposed to make. Just try to compare any of her past albums with this and you will fail… miserably. The singles may not be doing a serious damage on the chart, maybe it’s because everyone already has the songs. I really want this album to become the new “21” and I really think it could. I just need Bey to start promoting it. All I need is a grammy performance right now. The album will live on and become a classic that will inspire a lot of future albums. BEYONCÉ solidifies Bey as a legend, whether people like or not.
