It's kinda cool to discover stuff about ARTPOP songs that you really connect with overtime. Last night, I was contemplating how solid and beautiful "Gypsy" is lyrically. She tells that history so well, you could recite the lyrics and they would totally make sense.

Right? Remember when I heard Just Dance for a very first time. I thought it was going to be a typical Bubbling Under kind of a song and Gaga would not be more popular than Kat Deluna. And then she took off, I remember I was stunned when I saw Australian and Canadian iTunes. She was slaying. I thought she would be just an European artist. The world changed, the way I was thinking about pop music changed, everything changed when Just Dance hit #1. Then I listened to Poker Face. My first thought was that it was a cheap Just Dance rip-off with same beats and structure. Few weeks later I fell in love with my current #2 song of all-time (neck-to-neck with #1 IKYWT by Taylor). She was my absolute number one artist. Born This Way era was my highest anticipated era of all-time. I was hyped more than ever, BTW single slayed my last.fm and personal chart, I LOVED it. The obsession was real. And then the cover came, the controversies, the backlash. I loved BTW the album so much even though there are obviously some songs that shoulda never been recorded. I was supporting her the whole era, #1 after #1, even though she was making many wrong choices, her image was weird and I did not love her videos and performances. But I was sure she would recover from the backlash. She didn't. ARTPOP era is just a one big mess. The promotional photos were perfect, finally something was going in a right direction, without exaggerating, too much of everything and you know. Something went wrong after the release of Applause. She came back to her BTW roots. She is too weird, too unrelatable. I wish it changed. I want her next era to slay lives.
