Are you (in particular her fans) also disappointed in the fact that Gaga seems to not acknowledge the BTW era?

In recent interviews, she more and more seems to claim how she herself thinks the era was over the top and that she was not herself back then. Ridiculing it during the VMA performance was almost hurtful to me.

I (hence my username) think that era was of so much importance, both for her and her fans. Will you ever forget the moment you heard her singing the lines above for the first time with tears?

I do think that that had a lot to do with the backlash back then. What will she now say when ARTPOP's unfortunately doing even worse...?

You mean the era that ruined her? She should acknowledge it. after all she wants to send her career to the pits by releasing Venus so she might as well start being overly preachy again too.

wait, so the FAME wasn't the real her, BTW wasn't the real her, and now ....is ARTPOP the real her? who is this woman? no shade but Gaga seems confused about who she actually is.

To be fair, Born This Way played a major part in the demise of Gaga. When the Fame Monster-era was said and done Gaga was undoubtedly the biggest pop star. However Born This Way alienated a lot of non-gay fans and the material that followed was not enough to get those fans back. Now she's stuck with a gay fan base which doesn't even seem to support her half of the time and has a hard time gaining new fans because of her image.

It is for the best I believe.

I hope the only thing she is trying to distance herself from was her ghastly image that ruined her that era, because otherwise, Born This Way was her most impactful album.

It's her own fault if the sales never got higher. The music easily could've.

BTW was the era that made her unlikeable, I can understand her.

She knows she ruined her legacy with the awful ridiculous disgusting era! The music was good, I mean the album had some nice tracks, but she became this ridiculous bullying idol that people disliked so badly! Even if Artpop is a flop I prefer ir 10000000X than that ridiculous phase that ruined her music kingdom!

BTW is her best album.

Why though? BTW was very sucessful and she had one of her biggest hits.
