I always tip 15-20 percent...but tbh I almost always give more because I want my credit card statements to read whole dollar amounts as opposed to change

Agreed. I once went to a restaurant in the morning and to the same one after a club (alcohol makes us hungry, despite the obvious claims) and the same waitress that served us in the morning was there at 3 in the morning. I asked and she was working a double shift, going way over 24 hours (she got a two hour break I think) and she still had that spunky attitude. She would apologize for our food taking long and even brought us appetizers for free. She is such a kind person and a real people person. Of course her tip was 100% of our bill because she deserved it and we were a pretty big group.

Some people aren't people persons and shouldn't be in an industry where you have to interact with people. Same way people shouldn't be rude to the people serving their food, people shouldn't be rude to those who are ordering the food. Two way street. You have a bad attitude, you get a bad tip.

Generally a high bill means that there is a lot of people in the party, this means more work for the server to do, more people for the server to keep track of, etc.

It has more to do with how many people are in the party and not as much how expensive your food was.

I'll tip based on good service and good service only. But I've tipped zero for awful service before. It's never an "obligation".

An idiotic mess. At least half of the servers at the restaurant I work at are trying to pay for college, and that's WHY they are working there. You gotta start somewhere. You sound like a 15 year old kid that has no idea how the real world works.
