My parents and siblings are deaf. So yes, I would.

And the nerve of some of you guys thinking it'll be emotional to date a deaf person. They just hear LESS. They can hear with a hearing aid or a cochlear implant. Sure, their hearing or speaking might be rusty but sign language is a beautiful form of communication. If you date a deaf person, I am CONFIDENT that they will put forth their efforts to try their best communicating with you. There's absolutely nothing wrong with dating a deaf person or a blind person or a mute or a wheelchair bound person. It just takes a little more work but if you truly loved the person, you'd get past that.

I'd like to tell myself that I would be the better person for doing so, but I imagine it would be very difficult. If I truly loved the person of course, but the difficulty in communication and expression plays a big factor in relationships.

Actually, there are plenty of deaf people that loves music. It depends on their hearing level. If they only feel the vibration, then they are worthless to discuss about music. But there are certain deaf people that can hear well with a hearing aid or cochlear implant and I am pretty sure they will give you their insight on music.

I have discussed music with several deaf people and the discussion was actually good.

I would definitely date someone who is blind.The communication line is open and he can still rock me out back and forth.

And I really think most of you are giving yourself too little credit. If you actually met someone with one or more of these afflictions but developed a real, powerful emotional connection to them, you might understand that most of you really could get past it. If they make you happy, and you make them happy, it should happen. Physical afflictions should only be a factor in how you manage the relationship, not whether the relationship is there.

I could see myself dating a deaf guy as I have experience with many people who are deaf. As far as the other three options who knows where life takes you, my lover could have a freak accident and go blind or confined to a wheelchair.

If the person I'm already with acquires any of those disabilities I'll work past it, but I don't think I'd choose to date someone with them.

I wish I could say yes but I don't think I could. I already have a close family member with disabilities and it's a lot of hard work helping care for them.

One of the most important things to me in a relationship is communication, as I think it's what really connects two people. If somebody (through no fault of their own) had these difficulties, I would find the relationship very difficult. However, if I dated/married a guy for a long time, I wouldn't leave them if they developed a disability. I would obviously stay and care for them. This is a really hard question, but a very good one.
