Longer version: He was somewhat part of TC's (former admin) inner circle at the time. Known for some playful trolling and pranks, but at some point TC was confident he settled down and took a chance on him. He was included with a handful of other members to be "ATRL Assistants" (also the night I became an ATRL Moderator).
A few hours later TC was in the midst of hosting a nightly chatroom for staff and friends when we began to notice loading issues with the site. Shane then said something to the effect of "Ok, I'm done now". I think there was a brief moment of confusion before we realized he had merged every thread into one and killed the server. The chat became a furious mob lead by TC, hurling every profanity and insult possible at him. He broke down, apologized, said he thought there was an "undo button" and eventually left the room pretty shaken up. The result of all that was a permanent ban for him and the end of "ATRL Assistants".

Also Vin, in regards to the above discussion, the problem is not your arguments or the objectivity of the arguments themselves, it's the fact that you post nearly exclusively negatively when it comes to Gaga. That's why Monsters know - not think, know - you dislike her. You are logical in your arguments, respectful in most posts, and in general a quite respectable poster, but it's easy to pick up on the fact that you are seldom a positive voice in Gaga threads! With that said, you make good points. I agree that Gaga's refusal to make music as catchy and commercial as her peers, while still at about the same quality level objectively, is a major factor in her disconnection with the general public. She needs to make something amazing in a catchy, commercial, objective sense to achieve what I think she really wants. However, subjectively, I've never liked her musical work more.

I glare at the word "negative." The word "critical" is more accurate. I am critical of Lady Gaga as an artist, and occasionally as a person, and I express that criticism in my posts. I don't believe her artistry and I don't feel she's a genuine personality. (For instance, all Lady Gaga has been doing during her "#StopTheDramaStartTheMusic Era" is starting the drama and stopping the music -- i.e. more rants, but no "Do What U Want" video.) There are few things that I find commendable or complimentary about Lady Gaga, but when I do, I comment on those positive aspects, however, since it's so rare, it doesn't happen often in my posts. The explanation is that simple. That being said, I'm not 100% absolved from my actions, either. It's important to remember that ATRL, at its core, is an entertainment forum. And my specific goal on this particular forum is to create a provocative conversation pertaining to pop culture. I'm no different than a magazine editor or columnist; I intentionally make reasonably sensationalistic thread titles and sensationalistic posts to pull in the reader and ignite conversation, but also for entertainment value, almost verging on satirical -- my posts should never be taken 100% seriously. (Granted, sometimes the sensationalism overtakes the conversation and the thread is closed or the post is warned. Even I get the right balance between the two wrong from time to time.) Little monsters -- and many non-monsters alike -- tend to simplify all of this to "Vin hates Gaga" or "Vin is a troll," which is okay and doesn't bother me in the least, but it's also an inaccurate statement.
...Vin

I was wondering if I could have control of the first post in the Wynter Gordon Base thread:
http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=171974
I love Bea but she's not updating the thread at all. A nice intro post would attract more fans, and right now the thread is dead and needs a facelift. I wouldn't mind revamping it a bit if it's not too much to ask.

I'm getting Ancient Aliens vibes from Shane. A being that has the power to
combine ATRL into one single thread -- what kind of spacetime singularity occurrence?

If we suspect a dupe account do we post it here? Or do you prefer a help request?

Help request.
Plus it's probably better for you because if you suspect it, but it turns out to be false and then those members come in here...

Imagine someone merging all the threads now?
ATRL would never come back. We would probably all have to join UKMix or something.
