P!nk inspires Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Get your popcorn ready and award-winning faces on─ the 71st Annual Golden Globes will air exclusively on Vh1 on January 13th! As expected, the show’s two hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are plotting some sensational on-stage antics, as they take charge for the second year in a row. If you thought you had all the fun facts from the big night, wait till you hear what these comic-cons (pun intended) told Entertainment Weekly they have up their sleeves.
Vowing to do all the un-award-show-like things to regale the audience, like a two-headed parrot, Fey says to expect, “no singing, but a lot of dancing,” and Poehler pipes in adding, “a lot of dancing but with no music!”
And if you think just their funny banter is going to floor you, then they’re even promising some rather unusual moves, costume changes et all.
“At one point, we’re going to do some Pink-style aerial acrobatics,” says Poehler. (By that she means P!nk’s video for “We Should’ve Known.”) If that isn’t going to get gowns ruffling, Fey makes sure too: “We’re going to dress like geishas,” she says. “Because that seems to go over well,” adds Poehler.
As Ellen Degeneres gears to host the Oscars, she could take a few tips from the GG hosts and their other intended antics (read: feet-tweets and a feet-tweet blog). As for Poehler and Fey hosting the Oscars in the future─ “I think that’s just a much harder, much more time-consuming job and a much more intimidating room, says one. “Scary,” agrees the other: “Round tables and drinking can help with laughing, and it’s tougher when you’re in stadium seating….. The Golden Globes are just loose and weird enough that they fit us.”
