Rihanna's issue is she's somewhat reluctant to promote, she hasn't really felt like promoting much since Loud but as annoying as it is I can understand it.
I can't imagine how nervous she gets each time before she performs, and how tired she must be after promoting year after year with little rest while doing all her other ventures. she definitely promotes but I'm sure it takes it's toll on her and her body can't keep up with Lady Gaga promo with all the **** she has going on.
Well GaGa also has breaks and hasn't been doing for 9years.
I mean Rihanna would never stop promoting until TTT era then she was like **** YOU ALL.
RR was a struggle to go to Platinum but Unapologetic which is the most similar in sound had an easier climb to Platinum which is odd. RR never was a catalogue seller but I feel since Loud GGGB, and Loud's impact and catalogue status have been muted due to her frequent releases and due to Diamonds, WFL, even WHYB somewhat overshadowing her popular songs from 2007-2010.
I think R8 she may promote more but also at this point in her career she may not feel like she needs to heavily promote as she's nearing a decade in. Although I'd love a light WW promo push Rih gets nervous before she performs all the time and it takes a toll on her to heavily promote and travel so much as she usually gets sick.
I feel as though maybe if her fans from Aus, SA, and Japan tweeted her more often about promoting there more regularly she'd possibly reconsider she even has given the UK a bit of a break from ha recently.

I think the Navy and the sales have been putting a fire under her ass and we all know Rihanna works better under fire. Which means PROMO!
This era was a mess, and honestly hopefully she used South Africa more, and we will see how things go for the next era hopefully she can give Loud a run for it's money WW
I'm not saying those type of sales are impossible but that requires well planned and taken care of singles, good single choices, and adequate promotion for those aforementioned singles. Unless she can find a way to keep her album afloat for longer than 6 months we may never see Loud numbers again let alone GGGB.
Rih and her team haven't had the chance to plan a proper era in ages I mean she just barely finished recording TTT/UA on time
Tbh I think LOUD was a happy accident more than anything and/or they knew they had to be super successful to keep their jobs after Rated R underperformed.
Rih seriously has no excuse not to take her career to the next level and milk this upcoming era.
- Its really all up to her, if she's cool with her 3+ WW sales and 1-2 number 1 singles then so be it. But in terms of her "legacy" she should want more and be able to push herself!
