The frequency that people buy her music is quite high though, and considering she's one of the most Pirated Artists since 2010 speaks to the state of the industry and sales as a whole.

Well true the fact she black and doesn't make bubblegum pop and she still achieves gold is amazing but she could hit platinum like GGGB did if she released an album with bonus tracks and some promo.
Yeah her albums are mostly out of print half way through their run which is odd to me because I never see her albums when I go to the store. I occasionally see a more recent release (Loud in early 2011, Una about 7 months ago), but that's more a def jam thing than anything.

Rihanna's issue is she's somewhat reluctant to promote, she hasn't really felt like promoting much since Loud but as annoying as it is I can understand it.
I can't imagine how nervous she gets each time before she performs, and how tired she must be after promoting year after year with little rest while doing all her other ventures. she definitely promotes but I'm sure it takes it's toll on her and her body can't keep up with Lady Gaga promo with all the **** she has going on.
I'm sure her older albums are out of print by now but Def Jam drops the ball a lot when it comes to that her album sales drop more so because they fail to keep up with the demand with shipments during the first few weeks.
