Aretha Franklin is truly legend. And we just degrade the real status of legends by saying Beyonce or Britney are legends. If people listen to their music, in 2050, then they can be declared as legends.

The exact same thing can be said about Britney's fans who constantly say the worst about Beyonce. (talentless, no voice, no dancing, no entertaining -roll previous comments / THE delusion and absolute hate)I personally don't like wars between fan bases and there's nothing wrong about what I'm saying. I repeat that Britney is an icon, dominated pop music in her prime etc and in my opinion Bey is/will be a legend, because she managed to stay on top for all those years whereas Britney doesn't seem to really care about her career anymore.

There is a difference between all of them and Brtiney though, her impact was more like a comet hitting the earth, giant, but her name settled rather quickly.

Its just a thing of fanbases. Little Monsters will say Gaga is a legend, Fighters will say Xtina is a legend and Beyhive will say Beyonce is a legend. We wont change this mentality and these threads are higly unnecessary.

Time will tell. IMO Beyonce is going to be a legend and Britney is an icon of the late 90s, early 200o. But Britney has a strong enough following to turn it around anytime she wants.

I would never deny that Beyonce is the best performer in the game right now.
But you know damn well Beyonce has never been placed in the same category as MJ, Madonna, Elvis... Britney has always been there though.

They both will be legends at the end of the day, lbr. Why some members of the Beyhive are so pretentious about it and just want it to be Bey ? Beyoncé is obviously more respected but Britney Spears is a pop staple and a major influence on the new generation of divas.

In terms of talent of course she can be placed in the same category.


In terms of being an icon, Britney is the only person out of all of the pop girls since probably Mariah who truly is one.

Britney may not be talented and she is flopping right now, but she IS a legend, just for different reasons than Beyonce.

I can't believe how much Britney's success is being downplayed. She is the best selling teen age artist of all time. That alone should be enough to put her at legend status.

Anyway, Britney and Beyoncé will both end up being legends, but I think Britney will be more remembered in the pop world and Beyoncé will be more remembered in the R&B world.

One is a legend... period. The other is just a POP legend.
