She was fun during the Fame/Monster eras. Her videos during that time were great to watch. I sort of like Born this way too. I LOVED the rock-inspired/rock arena-type of songs she did: Edge of Glory, Marry the night, and You and I. If she took herself seriously (like Xtina on Stripped) instead of being a cartoon, I would have appreciated it a lot more. She was also so focused on her gay fanbase that she completely abandoned the GP who made her global force. ARTPOP is even more confused. I thought the music was more consistent, but the image is laughable. So now, I appreciate her attempts at greater musicality but not the way she's handling herself in public and her career.
