No because that would mean labels would start hiking up the prices of CDs they sell. Hence, the already declining sales would a literally start freefalling & the CD would be pronounced dead within a couple of years. The charts would become really ugly with tactics to get the #1 in my opinion.

It's just fine how it is to me. The only huge change I see forthcoming in x amount of years is the addition of album streaming counts to the official BB200 chart, since I believe they're a part of certifications now anyway...?

They already have a basement price in effect; I think 3.99 or greater is respectable enough for a digital album. Bey's got three weeks under her belt at #1; likely more to come, it's ok -- really.
