Lady Gaga, 90M singles sold, 24M albums sold.
Katy Perry, 81M singles sold, 11M album sold.
Either way, I like Gaga's music more than Katy's. Gaga experiments and has more diversity while Katy remains more generic. If you look at their discographies, you'll see Gaga has the edge, Katy has yet to do something out of the box with music and that's something that I appreciate in an artist.
Katy's best song > Gaga's best song Katy's worst song < Gaga's worst song
Katy's much more hit-and-miss: for every song as great as "Teenage Dream" or "Birthday" she has another as heinous as "Peacock" or "E.T." Gaga's more consistent; at her best she's good, but never particularly great, while at her worst she's bad but never awful.
I guess I'll go with Gaga, though I find myself listening to Katy much more often.

gaga has more albums an katys singles was 96 million a while ago so nice try
This poll should not be as close as it is. Just look the reviews for Katy's music compared to Gaga's. It's pretty obvious. Katy lacks diversity from dozens of pop stars who can do the same thing she does. I use Katy, but she is terribly overrated. She needs to develop her OWN sound.
