The gap between these two would be much smaller, but still Prism would be the better seeling album. I have no clue what the numbers would be like, but I guess 100-200 k lower for both??

In the long term it doesn't change that much since most albums end up being discounted sooner or later (like all products basically). The fact that both ARTPOP and PRISM had to be discounted so early in their run does say something about Katy and Gaga's selling power though, and obviously it means the impact will be lessened when they are discounted again some time in the futur.

And we should not forget that both released their albums during the best selling season last year and still both of them getting ongoing discounts so early in their chartrun is not really complimenting.

Nope I predicted 90-110k and that Frozen would be No.1 . I wanted to bump the preditction thread for this but figured I'd save her fans the embarrassment of their 200k predictions . And also its stange how the positions mattered 1st, 2cond and third week but now they don't .... And no by Billboard predictions this is below expectations .....
