I never heard of Idina before but her version is doing relaly well, while Demi's isnt.

I honestly don't know why either. Let It Go is like the first song in probably 18 years that Disney has released as a regular sounding soundtrack single since Colors of the Wind I think.

Usually the "single" version of the song does better as we saw with Colors of the Wind, A Whole New World & Beauty and the Beast, so I'm surprised the musical version of Let It Go is doing better.

Idina is a very well known singer though. Not on the radio but anyone who's seen Wicked (and that's a lot of people) knows who she is.

The demi version was unnecessary and Idina's version is pure perfection!

That actually makes everything different compared to the Disney soundtrack singles from the 1990s. The pop single of the Disney song was sung by someone more well known. The musical voices weren't known by anyone.

Idina is known to people, plus we're in the digital age so we get better access to soundtracks now.

Demi's version honestly sounds no different than the average Demi song, and the GP isn't here for that.

Plus, Idina's version brings a different sound to popular music.

I didn't think the Demi version was unnecessary, I actually liked the idea of her singing a pop / radio version of the song because Christina did that with 'Reflection' and not only was the song 10x better but now that's a gem in her discography. But Demi's version really lacks any excitement, Idinia's version builds until the end and as people have already mentioned it's the version used in the movie so it's more familiar. I wish Demi's version sounded different.

DemI LOVato is more known tho

Disney films are musical and a musical voice (Indina) suits the song better than Demi's voice.

Demi's version outpeaked Idina's in Canada, Australia, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Bulgaria so its not like their sales don't even out

edit: Demi's version has been top 30 on US iTunes for over a month now, so why is the OP trying it?

I guess people didn't see the point of getting someone else to sing the song. I think both versions are nice though.
