How The Media Failed Women in 2013

Wow I'm a guy and this video opened my eyes to a lot of the bs women went through this year
It's 2013, just how much longer does the world need to grow up

I really like both artists but you can't tell me that was a pointless inclusion, I definitely saw it.

I don't think Miley and Ri are problems with the media tbh but the rest of it was pretty true.

Women shouldn't feel the need to use their bodies to sell their music but I think ri does what she does because she wants to and we should respect that. As for miley well I dunno about her.

There is of course what we should and shouldn't be promoting and the industry is sometimes a bit too adult for the age groups it targets. I just don't like the idea of people not being allowed to do what they like with their own music ect.

Maybe the way the media reports on this stuff should be looked at. I thought the amount of shaming Miley got was actually worse than the perverted stuff and some of that shaming was from feminists. I think sometimes feminists need to think about these things too.

What's the difference between Rihanna twerking and Beyonce twerking? Why when Rihanna does it she gets called ****ty, trashy and unclassy but when it's Beyonce she is called a feminist? Rihanna is not a female? She doesn't have the right of being sexual? I support both women but this needs to stop.

You can read into what Ms. Cyrus and Fenty are doing in MANY ways, though. Some of these "feminists" who are sl*t shaming other women should raise as much eyebrows as the performers using their sex appeal to market their music. But they don't.

There were no men in the pour it up video, and Rih honored the athleticism of strippers.. including her is like **** shaming imo, saying shes not allowed to be sexually liberated.

It's not as easy that.

Don't forget that Beyoncé has faced criticism for being "sexual" as well.

I respect both Bey and Rih, but I think the problem is that people don't realize that you can be as sexual as you want and still promote the equality of women. It should not take anything away from you.

It completely was. It's their decision to twerk, it's their decision to go half naked/full-on naked, it's their decision to do anything in their life. You can find it vulgar or not like it, but telling them "no!!! stop it!!! you shouldn't do this!! women weren't created to be like this!!!" is putting them in a cage and taking away their freedom of choice. It's anti-feminism if anything.
