I worked at a coffee shop Second Cup in Toronto, Canada.
Our manager was super sketch and a total cheapskate. He would encourage some of the baristas not ring in customers orders through the register in order to evade the taxes. He would just keep the money to himself and the business. Technically, it's tax fraud and he should be in jail for it. Keep in mind this is a franchise of a national company he's running comparable to a Starbucks (but crappier coffee)
Also most of the baked goods they sold have
week long expiry dates. When we were about to close, we just kept them in Tupperware containers overnight and put them back out on display the next day until stock was gone. Oh, and most coffee chains (Starbucks, Second Cup, Tim Hortons, etc) don't keep their honey on the condiment table for a reason. Cheap bitches come in and steal the whole bottle of honey. It's happened so many times.
