Applause was the best lead single

I'm so torn with Applause. I mean the chorus and the production are probably her best since her debut, but then I think of the lyrics....Applause is a great lead...but maybe it was the best lead single in 2011. Out of all the possible options, I am sure there was a better lead single for 2013.
