Anyway, I LOVED this song, and I remember seeing this video premiere on Disney channel when I was a little whippersnapper, nnnnn;;;
IMO, she had the most potential out of her batch of Disney girls. She had the looks, a fairly good voice, the dancing, oozes sex appeal, and her music taste is diverse enough as to produce interesting bops.
Too bad HR was in their messiest times back then. With a Selena-like handling, even with a Demi-like handling, she could have smashed.
I still don't understand what happened with Vanessa. I would have thought she was a secure SMASH pop girl. She was arguably the most popular out of the HSM girls, she is STUNNING , she had the whole gabriella/troy-Vanessa/Zac hype going on, she can dance really great, her debut was a solid pop record and the singles were GREAT. Like...CBTM and SO are two of the best singles to come out of HR, can one of her stans tell me what happened? Such a wasted talent and it seems that she is just gonna be focused on acting for the rest of her career

They scrapped the first single, which was called "Whisper" and was reported to be a sexy pop piece produced by Dr. Luke, and then cut the song off the album alltogether.
Out of the Luke/Max production, only three or were kept (four with the bonus track, Set It Off), in favour of a more child-friendly sound that wouldn't alienate the core fanbase of HSM, which still had two movies to go.

I stanned so hard for her back then! Still love her! She has some great songs on her first album and her second album is great too. I got to see her live in '08! She was amazing! She deserved to be so much bigger.

Headstrong's first week numbers prove who was really the most popular HSM girl
HWR and the nude scandal derailed Vanessa's whole musical career. I'm just glad she's a decent actress now who can book movies. This was when a nude Disney star meant WW3.
That doesn't say much considering 'V' ended up out-selling 'Headstrong' in the long run.
Let's not forget the king of pop Corbin had the highest billboard single (Push it to the limit: Peak at #14) out of all the Disney Channel girls in the mid 2000s.

But the nudes scandal really ruined her career. At least she's happy now and you can clearly see it on her Instagram. I'm proud of her
