Yes, she has had one of the best selling albums ever but did Nora Jone's and Alanis Morissette's massive albums sales make them bigger pop stars than Britney, Xtina and Beyoncé back in the early '00s? No. Other than albums sales, Adele doesn't hold a candle to Rihanna when it comes to commercial success.

Those two didn't have songs as big as the 21 singles, nor did their albums rack up the awards 21 did, that album will also go on to influence generations of singers. I think Adele's name is cemented in the industry and her next album will do fine. I mean she's currently #14 on Itunes right now with nothing out (above Pink, Justin Bieber, Macklemore and JT). Gaga and Katy do not have that longevity and Rihanna probably wouldn't either if she stopped releasing as much as she did.
