Oh man, you want to talk about a song that PISSED ME OFF, "Breezeblocks" was EXACTLY that. God, I hate that song so much. It's just SOOOOO annoying.
The rest of the songs set is fine, fine stuff, though. I totally sold "Unbelievers" short this year, though. But next year...next year, it flies.

Man, I never got the change to comment on this great Best of so far from a long-time and not-so-frequent member of this site. The first set all have good-to great songs. The shouting of Thiskidsnotalright! To the down and chill time of Hurricane to the good mix of Wake Me Up and the tell it like it is song of The Wire. Like your summary of the songs in the first half of the set including the 1R praise and the sorta left field of Applause>Roar. Both weren’t that impressive, but have some good parts and I’m with the chart on Roar though not that much, but that’s the end result of those typical pop songs. The second half of the first set has all good sh!t except for that one Bugg. New Slaves+ Black Skinhead= One Epic and In Your Face Song. They belong together instead of separate. Hear the Sirens, Lana’s wondering of old age love, the angry pre-chorus of Afraid, the truth behind of AM’s high song, the ceiling can’t hold us and not crying on Sundays along with the message are my most favs parts of the set. Overall great f**kin start with such amazing music.
Part 3- Once again all good except for that insect. Nice to see From Nowhere on a Best of. Adorn really is big even in 2013. Bruno’s pop ballad, and the sounds of KOL, CTE, and Phoenix’s songs are my highlights here.
Albums part 1-Nice Bob Dylan comparison for Bugg, but still not liking his songs and attitude. The Heist is a major album to like including the four big hit singles and two other singles with awesome videos. Nice insight on the feeling of Phoenix in their Bankrupt album process. Still liked the album and their sound.
Pure Heroine does put your hands in the air in a different and interesting way with a mocking touch. A nice start for Lorde on that concept for her age. I still enjoyed RAM for what it is. Good picks here.
Part 4- Most of the songs that I heard are good. Unbelievers is one of my fav songs out of their album that I just listened today, finally. I eagerly wait for the video. Spot-on with Treasure and Bruno’s album. Demons is just great and that’s where they hide! Nice throwback of Suit & Tie even though it’s was underwhelming as a lead and comeback single, but didn’t care since it’s good to have JT back. Glad that Elephant had such good commercially success, Holy Grail, we’re going home are good ones to end this another awesome set.
Album part 2- Nice comment on The Civil Wars album, which I haven’t heard yet except the two amazing singles. Jay-Z’s album is a nice one, really liked the part of how the album is slower and the different musical styles are great compare to their previous works and the addition of the random, catchy songs. Drake’s album has such a wonderful vibe in terms of music similarity to The Weeknd. Good comments on JT’s albums.
Great sets with great- beyond that music for the most. I really want to see the last set, but it’s early Saturday now.

Songs: love VW! Great comparison to "Giving up the Gun." Hahaha about Timberlake's lengthy songs. It is a bit much, but I enjoy most of them so I don't mind. T-Swift, Tame Impala, Drizzy, great!
albums: I wasn't a huge fan of Magna Carta Holy Grail, but it was definitely an impressive launch. Love the Vampire Weekend album. So great! And I absolutely agree about Drake. Take Care is his best album, but I also enjoyed NWTS. And I agree about the JT album. Part 2 wasn't very good, but Part 1 has some great songs on it.
Great stuff, as always!

Thanks for the words guys! My attempt to finish this before leaving on vacation was not successful, but I refuse to let this go unfinished as I enjoy the music here too much. So nonetheless, here it is, the absolute bare bones top ten singles of 2013, typed out with love from a smart phone
1. Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
2. Capital Cities - Safe and Sound
3. The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather
4. Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know
5. The Arcade Fire - Reflektor
6. Daft Punk - Get Lucky
7. Lorde - Royals
8. Kendrick Lamar f. Jay Z - Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe
9. Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
10. City and Color - The Lonely Life
The top 3 songs this year are absolute juke box modern rock records for the year. While Radioactive seems like too easy a choice to be number one, its enduring nature, ability to get me pumped up at the gym, and the incredible live treatment it gets, makes it fully worthy. On the more of ubiquity, Capital Cities and The Neighbourhood were models of just that. Crossover success and tracks that remained on my musical conscious all year long. Does it get any more fun than Safe and Sound by the way? An absolute riot every time
There is a swarm of critical darlings in this lot, led by the out of left field modern rock smash from the Arctic Monekys. Who could have possibly predicted it would do as well as it did? A sleazy, grime fest of a rock churned that heralds their previous classic Crying Lightning. Speaking of classics - Arcade Fire created yet another but with a whole new approach, a 7 minute sprawling, disco funk epic. I was blown away but also assured, this is the Arcade Fire after all
Royals. Probably one of the most important records of the year. Almost too wise beyond her years , with a voice and sound of reason that promises more inspiring moments ahead. My only qualm? Her live mannerisms. Is that singing or a seizure? Still unsure
Daft Punk and JT - two of their most timely hits. An absolute must for any year end list in 2013, and anyone who doesn't is just a fool. Ya, I'm looking at you Grammys record of the year nominations ( criminal JT snub)
Final two are my wildcard picks. I was super late to the Kendrick Lamar party, but then I got into his album and this Jay Z remix, and then I saw him at Osheaga - and hot digitty I'm in. This guy is the real deal and the Grammy love was great to see. Now all we need is some stateside love for my fellow Canuck Dallas Green - who is now 4 albums in and is honest to God getting stronger with every record. If you still haven't had the pleasure of hearing the Hurry and the Harm, start no further than with The Lonely Life, this years number 10.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know this is lame and half assed but its the best I could so to fill a little down time with no computer
My hope is that I can post the rest of the albums list in a similar fashion, sometime soon
Happy New Years Guys !
I can ride with that top six. Jesus christ, man. The order would be switched up, but otherwise, I can't really complain.
Here's to the rest of the albums list being posted at all!
Sucks that you weren't able to get it finished, but sweet that we get to see it all anyways! I remember I had to do stuff from my phone one year when my internet wasn't working properly. So I completely respect the bare bonesness!
Get Lucky, Royals! Both are amazing songs, one of them was my fave comeback of 2013 and the other one my fave artist. Safe And Sound is really good, I'm in love with that song since 2011. Sweater Weather is amazing too! Too bad I discovered that song way too late. Great top 10
