We don't really discuss music because all they listen to is rock and this new hipster sh!t. Needless to say, they pay Mariah complete dust. I don't think they even know who she is. And whenever we do get into a discussion about music, it's always this pretentious attitude towards everything slightly "commercial". Apparently all of them are products and sell-outs.
Then there are the other people in my circle who put Pitbull and Ke$ha in the same lane as Mariah.
Of course. I enjoy Gaga's music, and my friend hates it. He makes remarks about her ALL THE TIME. Guess what? We laugh about it. I don't care, to be quite honest. I don't love her enough to go insane or feel offended.
My friend also says "I hate Katy Perry so much I want to punch her iin t he vadge." O_O. So you get what kinda comments he makes about Gaga.
Yup. Just the other day I told my friend that Britney Spears is the queen and he goes ''yeah right''. I was going to give him a lesson on why she is the queen, but I didn't want to waste time on stupidity.
Not a dig but if I say I for like a particular artist, they always hit back with, "Just because they aren't Britney Spears." It has nothing to do with her. I genuinely don't care for the artist. A concept many don't seem to grasp.
I wore a Lady GaGa t-shirt in high school (when I stanned for her) and some of the mean girls would poke fun at me saying she was dead!
When I wore my Nicki Minaj shirt , this closeted gay guy I used to have a crush on and some of the other mean girls would constantly mispronounce her name whenever they were near me.
And in one of my 10th grade English classes, this ROTC dude totally dragged Miley in front of the class because I had made it known how big of a fan I was of Miley. And this was in 2009 when Hannah Montana was at her prime and The Climb and Party In the U.S.A. were out.
Actually...I just realized none of these were really my friends (except for two of them).
Most of my friends only like rock and indie but we don't really discuss pop very much as they all have that one artist they "can't help but like." I.e one loves Taylor, another Gaga, etc.
Someone I used to think of as a friend has been making fun of Ke$ha on my Twitter timeline recently. Normally, I'd shrug it off, but it's different given the circumstances. I thought about dragging him through hell and back, but that's not what Ke$ha would want me to do.
