I have looked up the world wide numbers, I don't see what's great about them tbh. It's all about measuring gaga with HERSELF. Btw sold 1.2 million in it's first week in the US alone. ARTPOP sold that, over two months WORLD WIDE - that's a pretty steep decline. If I were a fan, I wouldn't be happy with that.

In regards to the tour.... you mis understood. Yes, the shows she has ARE selling out. The point wasn't to show it was flopping, the point was to show she's on a decline. The shows that are available are all close to selling out... New york for example she has one show. Almost sold out. with the btw ball and the monsterball she had 5/6 sold out shows. - My point here, is the DECLINE.

This is precisely why I think Katy will last longer. Every artist that has been successful with longevity has INCREASED in their first years in the business. Gaga after 6, is decreasing. I'm basing my opinion on the history of music.

And hmm if you say so although that seems like a pretty weak argument. I don't see any monsters genuinely going around saying she broke any preorder records either so. From what I can tell we get dragged because we were cocky and dragged other stanbases when Gaga was smashing hard. Nothing out of the ordinary though or exclusive to the monsters as I said earlier. Even if you truly believe that's what the Monsters get singled out I still wouldn't say it's fair.

And yeah never said Gaga was on Madonna's level obviously. If you're referring to what I said earlier I was only proving a point that even the biggest and most legendary artists have had downs in their career when it comes to sales and public perception. "Lady gaga is Madonna's Ke$ha" Ouch though.

Obviously she was going to decline as almost ANYONE who has sold over a million copies in one week would. Especially in the modern era. The fact that Gaga was able to do that even once is a huge feat. Very few people do that AT ALL these days...and NO ONE does it twice. Again, why single Gaga out? The album isn't done selling and furthermore it is holding up decently considering she hasn't had any single as big as BTW this time around, has a ton less hype, and isn't promoting it much worldwide. ARTPOP remains in the top 10 on the Mediatraffic chart.

Katy hasn't come close to some of Gaga's career highs. She's never had any tour as big as Gaga's and has never came CLOSE to selling 2 million copies worldwide in one week (she hasn't even came close to selling half of that lolz). Gaga has had far much more room to "decline". So it's not a fair comparison. Also the BTW era was the exception...not the standard. She's doing okay for the standard pop era in today's market. Gaga doesn't have an album with as much success as she did last time so of course the tour isn't going to sell out as many shows. As long as she's still touring arena's and is able to sell them out she's fine. 1 show or 5 shows! She can get back to doing multiple shows per city when she has a huge album again.

(but let's also note that only the first leg of the tour has been announced...she could be doing multiple dates per city in europe and could also do a second US leg at some point)

It's so funny if you asked me this question before/around the time DWUW was a new single I would have said yes.

But whatever thing Gaga is doing right now by suddenly getting affected by the criticism despite saying that she doesn't care shows that Katy is going to last much more!

CDT tickets were sold before the people payed attention to her (Around 3rd or 4th single of the TD era.). A lot of the new fans since 2011 didn't had the chance to see her live and she is still recruiting with every single. The continental European (is not the UK) leg was a small one, the amount of tickets sold in continental Europe could double this tour. She played last time in a 8000 standing venue in my country, it's about time to get that 23000 seat arena.

The average price has doubled from £ 30 to £ 60 (majority of tickets around £ 55). The increase from 60 to 120 million is an easy one, the question is how much the amount of tickets sold is going to increase. Doubling on the Continent and keeping the ticket sales in Anglophone countries the same => 180 million isn't that far away.

BTW ball tickets went on sale after the successes of TF and TFM.
This doesn't help Artrave touring gross.
Having a good mind, mental stability, insight,... are also a longevity abilities.

Gaga's claims of being smart, understanding fame,... doesn't translate into applying what she has learned. I'm not for those claiming that they understand it after reading a book, I want to see if they can apply what they have learned.
