The major problem with going independent, which Hilary seems to be aware of is the budget for the era. Going independent means a much smaller tour, less sponsors, 100X the work for PR/media attention, and cheaper music videos, and
usually little-to-no radio promotion and support.
Hilary knows what she's doing. She just needs to make sure the terms are right and she lets them know what she wants from them and vice versa.

See I always thought 12 songs was the magic number for some reason, but I guess I was off.
