I am always amused by the "what about whiteface!" argument. I mean, besides the Wayans Brother's movie, when the hell do you see white-face? I tried to google image and the amount of images of white face is rather paltry. And how many black celebrities (or non-white celebrities of any kind) have been seen in "Whiteface"? I have seen Chapelle do it for his show, but besides him and the Wayans? Then compare that to the amount of people who think it okay to do blackface, or brownface, or redface.

Perhaps the rarity of the practice should be seen as simple evidence of a lack of reciprocity when it comes to this problem.

WHAT? Call me when thousands and thousands of white people get murdered just for being white. Call me when white people are enslaved for hundreds of years. Call me when white people are genuinely not allowed to have the same opportunities as other races.

Obviously your views matter less since you haven't gone through what an average black person has gone through. How is that so hard to understand?

No, it's that you lack the ability to empathize. Furthermore, history is not just history. Our history still has a day-to-day impact on our lives today.

We should learn from the mistakes we've made in history, yes? Blackface was and IS a mistake, using skin color as a way to mock a certain race. Let's not repeat our mistakes.
