Yep! Aretha said he called her like at 2 in the morning (

) to tell her he had a song for her. And now here we are 37 years+ later, and the song is still being played and covered in a number of areas.
Stevie also wrote "Tell Me Something Good" for Rufus ft. Chaka Khan.

Well it's not like I was trying to drag Stevie or anything, just saying Prince has written classics for others too! Progressive/influential ones too.

I understand that, but it's that Stevie wrote them at a younger age, which is a testament of his talent and how gifted he is. I know he also wrote that song for Patrice Rushen back in the late 70s/early 80s that she rejected, and he ended up recording himself.

MJ>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Prince/Stevie IMO.
Though having said that, few are close to all three of these greats. Also not people here pretending Michael wasn't instrumental (pun intended) in producing OTW, Thriller and BAD with Quincy, on top of writing almost all of his major hits, of which he certainly has more than either Stevie or Prince.

Stevie has 27 top 10s on the Hot 100, MJ has maybe two more than that. Not sure about Prince. Stevie definitely has MJ beat as far as "classics" go, however.
