If she wasn't iconic or if she wasn't a big deal as some of you claim she wouldn't have survived 2 flop albums like she did. Most artists are out of the business soon as they underperform, let alone flop. But she's still here, relevant as ever, with a #1 tv show and a Top 5 hit duet whose renewed popularity can only be attributed to her.

OP: I would say no. She has her iconic moments such as Beautiful, Lady Marmalade, Genie In a Bottle, and the Stripped era in general but she is nowhere near as iconic as Britney or Beyonce. As much as people like to discredit Britney these days, there is no denying that she is the face of the bubblegum teen era of the late 90s/early 00s and that is something that won't be erased. This is not to discredit Christina though.

The GP doesn't remember BOMT's sales. If you asked the average person, they won't know or care. The song and the video are iconic though. Those are things they will remember not album sales or other stats that stans like to throw around.
