I don't think either of them are going anywhere any time soon. They're unquestionably the two most consistent pop stars making music.

In addition, they both make music that appeals to the general public, but then they have their separate niches (Rihanna = urban, Katy = Hot AC), so they're not even direct competitors. They're got the industry on lock and are co-existing perfectly.

Katy's inconsistent but at her peak she is a better singer and has a larger range than Rihanna, and she actually has a decent head voice (Rihanna doesn't). Rihanna delivers better performances on average but Katy's best is better than Rihanna's best, vocally anyway.

Let's be honest. Both are queens and both are slaying and both are being loved by our generation but I really think Katy has more to offer and Rihanna will be boring soon. But I love both, I also love What Now and all her hits and yeah just spread only kindness (Gaga's voice)

I have no idea about the asian countries, but the fact of the matter is both of them have areas where they are stronger than the other.

Don't even try and bring up touring because Katy'd 2nd tour was held in the middle of her era and she was much bigger when the era ended as compared to when it started. Rihanna has had many eras but JUST broke the $100 million mark with her 5th tour. That's not something you should be trying to drag Katy with.

And her sound is switched up, BUT that is NOT her album. There is a reason why her albums stall at 3 million sales. They are full of filler and the only good songs are the 1-2 big singles they try and push.

And Katy said she lowered her ticket prices, but in reality they are still expensive so don't even try that.

And please, Rihanna fans stop embarrassing yourselves with this "Icon" award. It's the American Music Awards, something America hardly even cares about a few days after it aired. Stop embarrassing yourselves for acting like it's anything more than it is.

And neither Rihanna NOR Katy have outstanding vocals. Stop trying to use that

What's Rihanna's special talent? 1-
Versatility;the fact that she can do any style without coming off as a wannabe or a try hard,that's why she has one of the most diverse discography.

2- She has a good ear for great pop tunes.

3- Rih isn't a great writer but neither is Katy. Rih co-writes now and then but you can be sure she actually cowrites. But the like of Katy that have credits on every song with 538474 other writers just shows they just put her name there cause she's the singer.

4-Katy can not play the guitar she can merely play WITH the guitar,there is a difference. Her ability with the guitar are so basic and mediocre that if she was to perform alone with it she would come off like an amateur(which let's be real is normal for all her "performances"). Like no one hater or Stan can deny gaga or Alicia keys's virtuosity with the piano but the same can't be said for Katy.

All in all Katy is a good pop star but y'all need to learn not to overplay her abilities.
