.....of those who have been inactive for more than 5 years. I came across this idea because I saw members in the "Username thread" complaining that inactive members, some who have been inactive for 10+ years, have taken the username that they want.
Nah.. it'd be messed up if you joined and had plenty of posts and stuff, but life just got in the way and you couldn't post for a long time. Then you come back for nostalgic reasons or maybe to even fully return and then you find out your account is gone.
They should! It took me ages to join ATRL and maybe I would have been able to join sooner if some of these inactive accounts were removed beforehand...
They can't delete accounts. They can only permaban
Would that then allow the person to take the permabanned persons username?

A return after 5+ years is likely to be short lived, though. Seems like a long time to go without something and then pick it up again like no time passed

I was talking more like 5 years, but you never know. It does happen sometimes, but it's just a rare situation. Hell, I've looked back at some nostalgic websites that I haven't been on in years after leaving them. But still, it'd suck to just come back, even if it's only for a little bit, and have that happen to you.
