At this point I doubt they are doing it for PR tbh . they would have got more attention if they got back together in 2015 , when justin put out his new single or end his retirement.
Or this keeps their names in headlines while they're on break from releasing new music. Kind of like what Beyoncé did to keep her name in the media all year before she released.
