The only Madonna album I totally dislike is American Life. For sure there are some great songs on it but overall I really don't like it at all

Yeah I was already a fan I couldn't believe my ears when I first listened to it.
I felt like she was trying really hard to be recognized as a 'serious artist' you know?
I know it sounds stupid knowing Madonna as we know, but, back then , that's how I felt about American Life.
It didn't sound like a Madonna album at all for me .
And it still doesn't up to this day.
I've tried really hard to get into it but I just can't !

American Life is one of my favorite Madonna albums...
Of course, there are some songs on the album that are better than others, though.

My favorite tracks apart from BG are the tilte track, Thief Of Heats and Where Life Begins (!!!!!!!)

She needs to perform Why Is It So Hard again.

It's almost impossible to think of an act as mainstream as Madonna releasing a single like Erotica without completely ruining her career for good.
Especially if you add in the Sex book and the single's accompanying video AND the fact that it all happened 21 years ago .
She's THE ultimate risk taker

American Life is underrated.. but I think the sound is just not for everyone. But the lyrics of Easy Ride or Intervention and Nothing Fails alone are just amazing. So if not only for the production, there's the lyrics. Hollywood has amazing production that's pop. so if folktronica is not for all, there's hollywood. it just got a bad rep because of the lead single.. but I loved its concept. Same for Erotica. A fantastic album that actually gets good reviews but is mostly seen as a bad album for the sex book by the average pop chick fan

It was her kabbalha album. hard to digest for sure but I liked it.
