It's not just bullies who tell her that though. The media and the world in general have told her that her surgery was necessary in order to be considered beautiful and be accepted by society. This says a lot about the world we live in. In a way, the fact that she's getting all this attention NOW, after the fact, because of it just proves that point even further. The bullies actually ARE right.
That said, it can be empowering to take control of your own life and make yourself look the way you want to look. As long as she is happy with herself then we have no place to judge her. If this is what she really wanted then good for her for going and getting it. Though hopefully she is also working on how she sees herself and the beauty she has on the inside.
