Discussion: BEYONCE's impact on marketing strategy

I wonder how Beyonce's new album will affect future releases from relevant pop ladies.

I mean, it came with literally zero hype, completely unexpected, and as a visual album.

I keep thinking, what a trendsetter she is.

But on the other hand, I think the other girls are afraid of doing the same thing, cuz that would be copying..

So my question is, after the INCREDIBLE success of BEYONCE (her self-titled album; which became the fastest-selling album on iTunes ever), do the other girls still have a chance of achieving such massive success?

1. Innovate (how?)
2. Copy Beyonce
or
3. Repeat herself (continue to sell with the same marketing strategy as be4)?

Personally, I am eagerly and curiously anticipating what the next step is from artists and labels.

i am more interested on how Bey can outdo herself in her next release (maybe after 213244 years)

but i think they can follow her footsteps. There's nothing wrong about it. As if Bey invented the no release date press thingie that happened

Considering marketing is one of my career-fields-of-interest, this album has gotten me all sorts of excited, especially because it has turned out to be a smashing success.

Anyone that does it in the near future will seem like a copycat and even if someone does try it, they need the status to pull it off. Plus, her stans were waiting for new music for forever, so a lot of things came together to make this album a success.

MDNA had the ticket bundle deal for one week of pre-orders in the US alone.

I think Madonna will widen that beyond one week and do it worldwide for the next album.

She will sell quite a few copies worldwide in her first week if she does that.

How? By performing old songs on tour? By doing a commercial for pepsi and not even putting those songs on her new album? Gurl what the heckkkkk

Being an actively working artist and HYPING an upcoming project are two different things, all she did in the public eye was keeping her image alive and well within society's mind.

It would have been hype if she was promoting the idea of a new album, but she wasn't.

Shes a music artist, I mean she has to do public events as a performer, and if that alone is hype then I guess her whole career is hype, damn I guess even her perofrming every night on tour is hype ... but for what? She wasn't even promoting anything and there was no release dates to hype on. Just accept the fact that BEYONCE sold because it's BEYONCE.

How about New Years or Christmas special (heck some sort of widely televised special) with a live performance of new songs then the album for sale on iTunes?
