Gaga is an icon already. Every artist including legends like MJ have a era that is considered a "flop" by their standards. She'll come back and snatch weaves in the future.
I don't think she'll ever match her previous success. But she'll continually have semi-successul singles, and sell a few hundred k albums. I can't see her returning to back to back #1s again.
But what went wrong with Cyndi Lauper tho? She was seen as more creative, talented and innovative than Madonna but after a few eras she flopped really hard. If Cyndi could fade like that, what makes GaGa's situation any different? Cyndi was also talented and her music was really good, why did she fade anyway?
I completely forgot about that! P!nk was written off after "Try This" and the beginning of "I'm Not Dead" but then, BAM! "U + Ur Hand" came out, and surged her as one of the most successful (but least talked about) pop star of this generation.
P!nk got her luck before the surge of ADD music generation we are in today. GaGa wont' be IRrelevant anytime soon, but she definitely reached her peak in 2009-2011, and I feel like she alienated a LOT of the GP this era with her constant nude "art" photogs, and coming off a bit too egotistical. If she doesn't go back to "The Fame/Fame Monster" type music, if she TRULY cares about being successful, then, she will probably just be forever the "Cyndi Lauper of our generation"
I don't like judging physical appearances, but Gags needs to STOP with the fillers or surgery. I watched her Jingle Bell performaces, and whatever she did to her face :_( girl.....
Less is more with Gaga that's why she hasn't done better than the fame & I think that she can still get a bit more into this era based off the singles she chooses and how she goes about the music videos. I also think her next era the budget will be cut down forcing her to have a more modest project because of how ARTPOP performed.
This is only my second day on ATRL and I swear I've seen this same thread posted at least a dozen times It's good to see you're all staying concerned about the queen of pop, though
