This sounds fake, but why not just do a spin-off I mean the way it ended with another housewive moving to wisteria lane and having a secret(s) better yet they can just do a miniseries which picks up right after the finale.

I think Devious Maids was supposed to be a spin off of the show but ABC did not pick the show up. Instead Lifetime did. Carmen made a cameo on Desperate Housewives.

But that's a Disney show catered to young children. It's irrelevant in this discussion even if I liked that show.

None of the ABC shows have truly had a reunion special as of late. So it'd be nice if they d this. I'm just not sure if this is too soon. The series ended in 2012. Maybe they should wait until 2015? Or until 2017 for that five years status?

If they were to bring it back, I think it should be a 3 episode story arc returning to mark a significant anniversary and push it far enough into the future that the characters have developed substantially. Kids older, housewives aren't just grandparents to distant infants etc.

In terms of plot, I think one of the housewives should die. The series ended saying they drifted apart and for consistency, this would be a viable reason to reunite them. Plus it'd be interesting and dramatic enough to warrant more episodes. How did it happen, if she was murdered - who did it - and what is the aftermath? They could really hype up the "who died?" angle for PR.

The dead housewife would narrate the episodes and feature in flash backs to fill in the blanks, so it wouldn't be a case of one of them pulling the short straw and not appearing. The compensation of being killed off would actually be making it surrounding them. Also, it would ensure all of them were billed to avoid the death being obvious.

My vote goes to Susan. She was always treated like the lead, if only slightly, but was the least likeable and her character really ran its course and had more than enough **** thrown at her. She seemed to be the outsider actress too, so it might make the others more persuadable.
