don't think anyone's posted it yet. this was carly's first vid under her maiden name Hennessy. It's meh, probably why she flopped hard. She's hot though. As for the whole controversy, I think she should be in the competition, I just think the producers should've been honest with the public.

I think they should kick her out. First of all, the show is looking for UNDISCOVERED talent! Second, it's not fair to the other contestents that she already signed with a major label and released an album. That's one of the rules on American Idol and she broke them, therefore they should kick her off.

Nobody ever gave a damn that Taylor Hicks had released 2 albums under an indie label before Idol, and I'm sure they sold WAY more than her record. So I don't know why anybody should care now. She's a great singer and it's not like anybody knew who she was anyway. So what's the deal? She's not undiscovered? Is that seriously the reason people watch the show, I watch it for the good singers.

The rules are that they can't have a CURRENT record deal, so it's 100% fair for her to be on the show, but the producers need to be honest about her past.

This is just like Saleisha on ANTM, but they let her compete, so I'm sure the AI producers will do the same here.

The rules say you cannot have a deal when you audition and if Carley didn't then she is following the rules. Mah Kels (the main example I can think of, other finalists have had this too) had a deal with Columbia what went nowhere and so she moved home. She also did tryout for Popstars too :-p

Well first of all, this was around uh, around 7 years ago. Her voice has changed dramatically. And if we're gonna bring her past up where she did have a record deal, then Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Hicks should all be thrown under the bus too because at one point, they had offers before they did Idol.
