Welsh singer/songwriter Duffy has entered at number one today on the UK Singles Chart. She becomes the fifth act to go to number one on downloads alone behind Gnarls Barkley, Mika, Rihanna & Sugababes, second female artist in all. Her single Mercy released on Monday to iTunes shyed off competition from Nickelback, Basshunter, David Jordan & H'two'O but she still managed to hit the top spot on downloads alone
. I'm so happy for her and I think it's great she got to number one but as my friend pointed out it is going to be another long wait for a new UK number one after Duffy
.
