The record will only be broken by an artist with a massive following mostly made up by teenagers. That's how Britney did it and that's how N*Sync did it (2+ million in the US first week with their second album)

We haven't seen Adele's debut power since 21 though. She was still practically a nobody here in the US when 21 first came out (and still managed to sell 355k).
Even Skyfall shifted 260k in 3 days (and are people STILL trying to call that a flop?

Columbia will push the album hard when it's announced and Adele will likely follow a traditional release, giving the album time to collect alot of pre-orders and first week hype.
