Again, I don't actually mind Katy so hopefully you don't think it's personal or anything, but none of Katy's songs are more memorable/impactful than Rolling in the Deep or Someone Like You and none of her albums are as memorable as 21.

Um Kalthum/Edith Piaff didn't chart at all but I have yet to see someone point that out. Yet Katy is the first one to come to mind, because yeah she is so unimportant.

You just edited your post. Well 21 is up on par with Thriller, so her proving herself as someone with longevity would make her a certified legend ahead of many on the list, incuding some 80's/90's icons.

I also pointed out Rihanna and Taylor in earlier posts but either way that's irrelevant. In no universe do I think Adele should be in the top 5 or even the top 10 when she's only been out for 6 years now.

I know all of that. I listen to her music myself, but she's not "top 30 greatest" material IMO. So many women have made a much larger contribution to music than she has (I won't even get into it) and I know more than 30 have been more succesful than her (sales, charts succes, touring). She's top 50 maybe.

She's made some great albums, but many female musicians have.

Barbra is very noticably absent, as are Joni Mitchell and Carole King.

Adele and her one humongous album can stay at #22, she has things to prove.

I do think she should be in the top 3 if her next album is successful, sorry not sorry. After all, this is a current list.

"Rolling in the Deep" sold more (in the States and WW than it), has more acclaim, won more awards and will easily go down as a more memorable song than both of those songs.

"Someone Like You" is one of the songs that caused the shift from dance songs to more down tempo songs on radio.

Sorry, she doesn't. She has more hits. That's it.
