Whether Adele fizzles out or not, she has still established herself as a talented, respected singer-songwriter of her time period.

What legacy has Katy left behind? She's a critical failure, her album sales aren't over-the-roof, and she isn't highly respected. Her hits are all she has. She hasn't left a mark yet.

And why would I ask for Adele to be higher? I love her but putting the stan glasses aside, she's still has alot to prove. Out of the girls to come out in the last 5 years, she'd likely be at number 1, but not of all time.

exactly. I'm not a stan though, I'm barely a fan, but I recognize madonna's huge legacy and impact

Katy has left a bigger legacy than Adele. Adele could easily go the Alanis/Norah direction and disappear after 21. Katy's already got tons of memorable smashes under her belt which has secured her legacy at least somewhat.

Linda Ronstadt is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee who has covered every genre there is out there. She is more respected & talented than some of these names on this list.
