they put her on #1 last year. her hits and music are among the best of all time in pop. she's high on these kind of lists because she makes damn good music despite also being a controversial artist. it's not just about vocals.. or just controversy. (as been proven in 2013. controversy or PR doesn't always work!) if the music sucks then people don't buy it or appear high on these lists. simple.
I would agree but based on genre, Taylor is damn near the Beyonce of country music. She has already dominated with multiple albums and won the Grammy for AOTY (deserved or not). She is very well respected in music crowds and she is a songwriter.
