Bruno Mars and Rihanna were the world's most pirated music artists in 2013, according to a new analysis of peer-to-peer file sharing. Both singers were downloaded more than 5m times over the course of the year, closely followed by Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake and Flo Rida, data from music analysts Musicmetric showed.
Musicmetric analysed data from Bit ******* - the popular method of illegally pirating music - to come up with the figures. It said the 20 most pirated artists were downloaded 64.5m times via Bit******* over the year.
Should billboard count these sales into their charts ? cause they always claim their charts reflect the popularity of the music .
Sometimes I think about it. I think people like Flo Rida and Katy Perry, claimed to be single artists, would benefit the most. Generally people illegally download their albums, they just don't buy it.
Guess they have better things to spend their money on.
They have already spent their money on Bruno sis as he topped Global Albums chart, he's just so global that everybody wants a glimpse of his godly out of this world work of art.
Bruno's is more impressive. A lot Rihanna's downloads came from her 6575473 features.
LOL, not Numba 1 (Tide Is High) garnering all of these illegal downloads. Even more impressive accomplishment for Rihanna then considering the song was a flop.
Even with him as the world's most pirated music artist, Bruno still able to sell his 2nd album more than 5M WW.
I guess it's because Bruno and Rihanna have many young fans in the part of the world where they don't buy music anymore and prefer to download their music illegally,
including my country
