Some people on this site always talk about how bad homophobia is and how people who just find gays wrong etc are awful ....

Yet, you guys will happily add the word god to your faves' name or call their album a bible knowing that if any religious person was to see it, they'd be offended.

Is it hypocritical?

P.S - I'm not saying everyone on this site says so and I'm not saying that only ATRL-ers do this stuff.

It's a bit different. So no I don't think it is. I'm not saying it's right, but i don't think it's hypocritical.

Gays are people who are harmed DIRECTLY by discrimination.

I am not someone who believes in religion but I found it hypocritical for people to champion gay rights yet completely ridicule religion. It's as if people with strong faith or religion has different right from gays. Don't get me wrong. I am gay myself and will be bothered if people ridiculed my sexual orientation but at the same time I also have religious friends and they have right to be respected for what they believe

Religion in general has been openly antagonistic to homosexuality for a LONG time. There have been attacks, killings, discrimination, shaming, children put on the street, etc.....

A little lingering hostility is understandable imo.

It's the body of people who believe in God who you are hurting. Not justifying hate towards gays, but discrimination is taken against practice of religion in this case. Do you not know of the Holocaust? Discrimination can be taken against people of any religion, skin color, gender, or sexual orientation.

Here is the thing.

1. Most religions subsist (and recruit) based on the notion that everyone NOT a part of their religion will burn in hell.

2. I don't see why I should respect any group that thinks I am doomed for not being like them.



That obviously does not apply to ALL religions, and I have never attacked someone for being religious (I come from a very religious family)...... but I feel the victim playing laughable.

Freedom to practice religion based on personal beliefs is a relatively new concept. I would say it was the first of many changes that changed human rights.

1. Religious Freedom
2. Women's Rights
3. Equal rights for Races
4. (Future) Equal Rights for Gays

The only victim is the group of people being attacked.
