Ehh they can, more or less. The seven (yes, seven
) I'm at high risk for, or have shown signs of, due to inheritance from my mother aren't particularly like oh-my-god-you're-dead level, but in order to really live a great life and remain healthy, I'll need to have an extremely active lifestyle and healthy diet as an adult.
The whole non-celiac gluten sensitivity thing is going to be annoying though.
