I don't think celebrating fighting for your work that you believe in against money hungry bitches that didn't and would have preferred her to be an Ashanti 2.HellN0 AND having tremendous success in the process is vile nor arrogant. She has every right to feel pride in that.
I think she's making moves to phase out major label involvement altogether. Considering the history there, I really don't blame her.
Anyway, CiL wasn't instant. I remember disliking it the first time I heard it -- it took a few listens to digest. That sound was way left field at the time.
i remember when it premiered on the radio and listeners called in and one person dragged it, saying it will flop.
