Album Review: Danity Kane, Welcome To The Dollhouse (8.5/10)


I've been a huge fan of Danity Kane, ever since Making the Band 3 1st started. I loved their 1st alubm, so I was hoping i would love this album. And they did not disappoint. I love the new direction of the album. It defintly fits them better as a group.

The Intro: Nice intro, although i would have prefered the girls instead of Diddy.

The Interludes: I'm usually not a big fan of interludes, but Danity Kane seems to have good ones. My favorite is The Secret Place. Very beautifully sung. They all sound great.

The Good: By far for me, BAD GIRL is their best song on the album. Although vocally its not their best, the attitude that they put into the song puts it ahead of the rest. It has a great beat, and all the girls do great. Aubrey sounds HOT, and adding Missy on the track will now doubt help the song if the realse it as a single. STIP TEASE is another hot song from the album. Shannon surprised me the most on this song. She sounds soooo good. Next up would be DAMAGED. Vocally its one of their best songs. Each girl sounds really good, but AUNDREA by far steals this song for me. LIGHTS OUT has a certain attitude that BAD GIRL has, but shows off their vocals better. DAWN did a great job writing it. SUCKA FOR LOVE surprised me. At first I really wasnt feeling this song, but after a will it just grew on me. It's their most dancy/pop song on this album.

The Bad: 2 OF YOU is probably the weakest song for me. It alright, but they have way better songs on the album. The beat is just ok, and the girls really dont do any thing special for me EXcCEPT for AUBREY & SHANNON'S rap. PRETTY BOY is the other song i'm still not feeling. I like the beat of the song, but I just cant get into it. Also Aint Going i'm not really feeling. It seems like more the guys song than the girls.

The Rest: The 2 ballads, POETRY & IS ANYBODY LISTENING, are very good songs. I tend to prefer Poetry more, cuz vocally they really bring their all. IS ANYBODY LISTENING has more of an R&B feel to it, but its still very good. Extasy is a good song as well. Wasnt really feeling it at first either, but the girls did their job. Another song that no one really seems to like is Key To My Heart. Although not my favorite, I will have to say that vocally, this is the song that they ALL sound great on.

Overall, I would recommend this album. It has a lot of good dace tracks & ballads and the girls sound amazing on the album

Album Review: Day26, DAY26 (7/10)

Since I really liked Danity Kane after watching making the band, I thought I would try season 4 with the guys. While they all sing great, I'm not really feeling them as much as Danity Kane.

The Good: So my favorite song on the album would have to be COME WITH ME. I loved it when i first heard them recording it, and I love the full version. Willie really sounds great on this track. NExt would be ARE WE IN THIS TOGETHER. Vocally I think it's there best song. I do kinda wish there was more of everyone singing the song intead of just 3 of them, but it sounds great anyways. SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE is another great ballad. It's grown on be a lot more with there live performances. Robert & Willie really do well on this song. Lastly, is their 1st sing, GOT ME GOING. Its a good up tempo song, and they do sound really well. Good song to start off the album with.

The Bad: SILLY LOVE is the worst song on the album, IMO. They sound good, but I just can't get hooked into it. CO STAR comes in a close 2nd. It just sounds really ameturish & corny. I usually like anything Danja produces, but IN MY BED was bad. The beat wasnt anything great, and it really lacked a catchy chorus for me. IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU was another disappointment. 1st I thought the girls were on it, and now I'm glad they weren't cuz it wasn't at all a good song.

The Rest: I'M THE REASON was a good opening for the album. COME IN (MY DOOR IS OPEN) has a good sound to it. WHAT IT FEELS LIKE is a good r&b track & DON'T FIGHT THE FEELING was a great song as well, but after a while it gets tiring.

THe Bonuses: AINT GOING was nothing special, the only highlight for me was Aundrea & Aubrey on the 1st verse. Of course, EXCLUSIVE is a great song. I loved it when I first heard it during season 1. JUST SHOULD'VE TOLD YOU was also really good. They should have replaced either Silly Love or Co Star with this song.

While it's an ok album, I was expecting more up tempo song since DIddy was big on them learning to dance. It's a nice R&B album, but nothing to special for me.
